About captains and pirates
Anatoly Mityaev, the author of famous history books for children, began his career in literature with fairy tales. In total, he created more than forty fairy tales. Two of them were included in this book.
One of the best children's book artists, Naum Zeitlin, created bright illustrations for the fairy tales, full of sea romance. The theme of the sea was especially close to the artist: after all, he served in the Northern Military Fleet and participated in special expeditions.
The fairy tale "Six Ivans - Six Captains" is very simple in plot, but deep in content. It is about people who will always come to the rescue if a person is in trouble. And the girl Lena has a big problem - she ran out of paint. And six boys in striped shirts - Ivan-captains - got her yellow, black, white, red paint from the seas of the same name, and blue and orange - from the Blue River and Orange River. Here it is - friendly teamwork!
"The Tale of Three Pirates" is funny and instructive. Its heroes are the stupid rogues and rude people Blue Nose, Red Nose and Hook Nose. They were once feared in all the seas and oceans, but then they stopped being afraid, and from such misfortune the pirates became small. Now they had nothing to do in the huge sea, but they were able to get into the apartment through the water pipe. And all because mom, dad and daughter forgot to turn off the tap and went to look at the puppy. These terrible characters ate waffles with pepper and sour cream and began to board the apartment. They rummaged through the things on the hanger, then attacked the dolls, threatened them with a knife from a meat grinder and took all the clothes from the poor things, and the pirate Blue Nose even started shooting ink from a fountain pen.
In short, when leaving, you should always check the taps, otherwise you may return to a destroyed and flooded apartment.
