The summer was a turbulent one – a flood came to the Valley and flooded the Moomin-trolls’ house. The family went to look for a new home. As luck would have it, a perfectly suitable house washed up on the shore, although it behaved a little strangely. It had a roof like a shell and a rotating floor, and if you pulled the string, a picture would fall from the ceiling. Or it would rain. Or hundreds of multi-coloured lights would come on. The family had barely tidied up a bit and were sitting down to drink tea when one of the previous inhabitants showed up and declared that the whole house was a theatre. And then Moominpappa took on staging a play of his own composition!
