A curb to the house
A curb to the house
— How far are you going?
— To Lillehammer.
- Why do you need to go there?
- I'm going to move there.
— Some people are lucky!
By the way, getting to Lillehammer is easy - it's the final stop. You can't mix it up, which means no one will get scared or angry. I'm going there too. I used to live there. And that's where Ronald lives.
- In that case, we're on the same path! I think we'll have a great time.
- Let's see.
Erke meets Britta on the train to Lillehammer. It's the first time she's traveled alone, and she has a lot to say: about running fast in Cherrocks, about the huge bay window she's named after, about Ronald in a Superman costume, about her mother who went to New York to "keep a cool head."
The book contains only a dialogue between a child and an adult. Erke and Britta talk about their first loves, friends, parents. Gradually, the main plot line emerges - we begin to understand what happened in the girl's family, why she is traveling alone and where. A casual conversation between two strangers turns into a grandiose story about hope.
