The protagonist of this story is an ambitious 9-year-old Gaspar, who considers himself old enough to see the world alone (or at least leave his home for a while). So, it is decided - tomorrow or the day after tomorrow he will set off. But first he needs to make some important preparations - determine the final destination of the journey, stock up on everything he needs (from a backpack to socks), think about what he will eat on the hike and how he will behave in case of a wolf attack...

Should he tell his parents about his plans? The boy is not sure about this yet, especially after his mom and dad decided to transfer him to another school starting in the new year, where his friends will not be.

Gaspar records all the important details about the journey in his diary so as not to forget anything. Along the way, the hero decides to share his plans with his comrades, and very soon his escape becomes the main topic of discussion at school.

A captivating story about growing up, sincere friendship, and support from loved ones, filled with genuine humor and funny illustrations — themes that are likely close to many teenagers. The first book in the series, Journal of an Escape, was published in France in 2021. It was followed by Journal du grand amour (Diary of First Love) and Journal de ma manif (Diary of a Demonstration) in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
