Then he became famous all over the world - there is even an asteroid named after him.
Few people can speak the same language with children as easily, openly and without edifying as Erich Kästner. Perhaps that is why the writer was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Gold Medal in 1960. "The Matchbox Boy and the Matchbox Girl" - a continuation of the wonderful story about Maksik, which is so popular abroad, is finally published in Russia in the translation of Elena Leenson.
