German artist and children's book author Philip Wächter takes readers to a typical warm, sunny summer day that five friends are lucky enough to spend together.
It all started when the Raccoon wanted to bake an apple pie in the morning, but it turned out that there were no eggs in the refrigerator. The Raccoon went to his neighbor, the Fox, who kept chickens, for eggs. The Fox was busy fixing the roof and complained that he did not have a ladder. The two of them went to the Badger, who always had everything, to get a ladder. At that time, the Badger was solving a crossword puzzle and could not find the right word. For help, they went to the Bear, meeting a Crow along the way, who volunteered to guide them. Along the way, the friends told each other funny stories, picked blackberries, and climbed down a cliff like seasoned mountain climbers. They found the Bear on the bank of the river - he was fishing, but he was not getting any bites. As a result, the fishing ended with a general swim, after which the friends lay on the sand for a long time and solved the crossword puzzle. In the evening they went to Badger for a ladder, fixed Fox's roof and made an apple pie at Raccoon's. Then they drank tea on the veranda and everyone thought: "How wonderful it is to suddenly spend a whole summer day with friends!"
This book is about the magic of summer, about the magic of friendship, about how the most ordinary day can become so happy that you want to return to it again and again.
