Ninny dreams of a bicycle, but her pocket money is only enough for ice cream. She needs to earn some extra money! But who would hire a nine-year-old girl? Maybe some weirdo... To make her dream come true, Ninny goes to the Nightmare Shop, a shop selling monster mops, ghost cages and other magical things. The interview turns into the first test. It's not so easy to find the right potion among the bottles with crumbs of reason and bags with mini-dragons! Even the owner of the shop, Strange Grandfather, always gets lost here... The creepy assortment and the strange employees of the shop are not at all scary, but very nice and charming - this was made sure by Magdalena High, the author of the acclaimed Finnish steampunk novel The Beggar Princess, and the artist Teemu Juhani, a big fan of cookies. According to unconfirmed reports, after creating illustrations for The Nightmare Shop, he gave preference to lizard eyeball charlotte.
