On Sunday afternoon, little bunny Karlchen and his dad play football on the lawn behind grandma's house. Gradually, Uncle Willy and Aunt Gabi, cousin Katie, the twins Friedrich and Wilhelm, and even grandma herself join them. The players show off their skills, and their mother, the referee, strictly monitors that they follow the rules. The tense match ends with both teams winning, after which everyone goes off to drink cocoa and cake!

In fact, the course of a football match is not the only story in this book. If you look closely at the illustrations, you can see that the goose and the frog, the crow and the snail, and the hen and the chick all play their "own game" from the first to the last page.
