How Pete and Pelle went shopping

Brothers Pete and Pelle are still small, but their mother says that the two of them can pass for one big one and help her with the housework from time to time. One evening, when their mother announced that she needed a few things to make dinner, their father said, “I think the kids can go shopping.” He handed the boys a shopping list, bags, and a wallet, and the brothers went shopping on their own for the first time in their lives.

The boys took their parents' assignment very seriously. At the supermarket, they discovered that Dad had somehow forgotten to include a bunch of useful things on the list - for example, chocolate flakes. "It's good that we remembered about them," the brothers praised themselves. They also very successfully remembered about chocolate spread, cookies in a long package, vanilla cake mix, small sausages in a can, and much, much more.

Pete and Pelle left the supermarket with a full shopping cart, and suddenly they were faced with a problem: how to drag the purchases home? The brothers' ingenuity came to the rescue: in order not to carry the food for dinner home, Pete and Pelle decided to have dinner right next to the supermarket. And they buried the heavy potatoes in a flower bed near the parking lot, so that later they could harvest a large crop. Since even after this, the bags were still too heavy to lift, the boys decided to have breakfast at the same time, so that the whole family could sleep longer in the morning...

Having called on their wits more than once and finally found an original way to transport the bags, the brothers returned home late in the evening. They were beaming with happiness and very proud that they had managed such a difficult task as going to the store without any outside help. Only their parents could not understand why they would now have to dig up potatoes in the flowerbed...
