You have certainly heard of Doctor Dolittle! Yes, that is the same kind doctor who lives in the small town of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh and treats animals. The story of his amazing life and adventures was told exactly one hundred years ago by the English writer Hugh Lofting, and a little later translated into Russian by Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky.
However, grandfather Kornei changed a lot in this story - he decided to keep silent about some things, and on the contrary, he added some things from himself. Even the doctor himself is called differently - Aibolit.
The fairy tale that you will read in this book is much more similar to the one that came from Lofting's pen. After all, it now has a different translator - a modern children's writer and the best friend of all animals Stanislav Vostokov.
