Idiot
Dostoevsky wrote "The Idiot" while going through one of the most difficult periods in his life. Creditors, from whom he was forced to flee abroad, the death of his three-month-old daughter, a pathological attraction to roulette... The desperate situation prompted the writer to take up an idea that had long tormented him - to write a novel about a "positively wonderful person".
In a world where vices rule, Prince Myshkin with his meekness and kindness, forgiveness and love for man turns out to be a madman. Intending to save the soul of the fatal beauty Nastasya Filippovna, he stands in the way of the destructive passion of the merchant Parfen Rogozhin... And this story can have only one end - death.
