Winter of Bruno the bear

Teddy bear Bruno and his dog Lolla are the heroes of 4 picture books created by contemporary Swedish artist Gunilla Ingves. Each book is dedicated to one of the seasons - winter, spring, summer and autumn - and describes one day in the life of the heroes, filled with activities and entertainment "according to the season".
In the book "Bruno the Bear's Winter" the bear and his dog feed the birds that have stayed in their winter quarters with seeds, learn to distinguish animal tracks in the snow - field mice, hares, roe deer, and also dog and bird tracks. Bruno and Lolla get caught in a snowstorm, freeze, warm up at home by the stove, bake a pancake for dinner. And in the evening, when it got dark, the sky cleared up and the stars and the moon became especially clearly visible, Bruno and Lolla took binoculars, a star map and went to admire the constellations and the moon.
The main story of the book is "framed" by notes from the observation diary of Mishka Bruno, which are placed at the beginning and at the end of the book. They contain many sketches and educational information about the world of the surrounding nature of a certain time of year. The first diary spread is devoted to the prints of various animals in the snow, and the second - to the moon and stars, which are especially good to look at in the clear winter sky. From here you can learn that there are seas and mountains on the Moon, and that the brightest star is Sirius. And you can also learn what the constellations Orion, Ursa Minor and Ursa Major look like and how the Solar System is structured.
The books from the Bruno Bears series can be called a practical encyclopedia of the seasons for children aged 3-6. With delicate pastel-coloured illustrations, lots of details to look at on each page and charming main characters.
