Why do paintings have titles?

Once upon a time there lived a grandparent. The grandma was interested in art, read books about artists, and the grandpa himself had painted in his youth and knew first-hand how to mix paints. And they had a granddaughter Ema, a high school student, and a grandson Mikulas, a nine-year-old tomboy who loved nothing more than kicking a ball around and watching football matches. One day, Ema was given an essay to write about paintings for the weekend, and so the grandparents decided to take her and Mikulas to a museum of modern art, and not just any museum, but a magical one, where masterpieces from all over the world were collected. By an amazing coincidence, at that very same time the former director of this museum, who knew the value of the treasures stored there like no one else, decided to steal one of them, and while the grandparents were telling Ema and Mikulas about the paintings, robbers crept into the museum. Thus, the young visitors, without even suspecting it, became witnesses and even participants in a detective story. This book, which received the prestigious Magna Litera award for the best children's publication in 2015, will tell you how it developed, and at the same time how art developed over the last two centuries.
