Cherry is 10 years old and dreams of becoming a writer. On the advice of the writer Madame Desjardins, she begins to keep a diary, because a writer must be able to build a story, collect facts, conduct interviews, and most importantly - observe. Most of all, Cherry likes to observe people, especially adults, who always have so many mysterious things to do - try to guess what they are hiding!
One day, when Cherry and her friends were sitting in a tree house, they noticed an old man in the forest with cans of paint in his hands. Who is he? What is he doing? And why is he covered in paint? Determined to solve this mystery, Cherry begins her first investigation.

This is an unusual graphic novel: in addition to stunning watercolor shots, it includes diary entries by Vishenka herself, her drawings and photographs. All this creates a unique personal story and gives an opportunity to look at the world through the eyes of a 10-year-old budding writer.
The book is very interestingly structured. In the part where it is drawn as a comic book, we see what events happen to Cherry, and in the diary part - how the heroine understands these events and how she conducts her detective investigation.
