Children of the Blue Flamingo
A fairy tale by Vladislav Krapivin about courage, friendship and betrayal, meanness and nobility. The main character of this book, an ordinary boy Zhenya Ushakov, ends up on the fairy-tale island of Dvid, enslaved by the terrible Lizard, whom he, a young knight, must defeat. But everything turns out to be much more complicated than in an ordinary fairy tale: both the knight, and the Lizard, and the inhabitants of the island are not at all what they seem at first, and the knight Zhenya will have to endure many dangerous adventures before a real victory is achieved.
The book comes with wonderful color illustrations by Evgeny Medvedev.
