Ugly duckling
Ugly duckling
The artist Evgeny Antonenkov created illustrations for this work by order of the Danish company "Hans Christian Andersen Copenhagen". In Russian, the fairy tale will be published in the classic translation by Anna Vasilyevna Ganzen. It was in this translation that millions of Soviet children became acquainted with the touching and wise fairy tale.
"The Ugly Duckling" is a story about how behind an unprepossessing appearance often lies a kind soul and a brave heart.
How cute the ducklings hatched from the mother duck! All except one... The poor thing was so huge and clumsy that the birds immediately disliked him. The duckling had to leave his usual poultry yard and go wherever his eyes looked. The duckling met many different people, animals and birds in his wanderings and faced danger more than once. So the harsh winter passed, and when spring came, it brought the duckling much joy - he finally found his native flock, loyal friends and true happiness...
