Big Edwin

Big Edwin
Edwin was born a nice fluffy lump and was no different from other rabbits. But his happy childhood ended when Edwin began to grow by leaps and bounds. His native burrow became too small for him, and his parents, shedding tears, took their beloved son into the dense forest, where only such a giant could hide. But Edwin did not find shelter there either, and barely escaped from owls, foxes and ferrets. And for the farmers, he turned out to be a welcome prey, and they chased the rabbit across the fields until winter. But, as we know, the world is not without good people. One farmer, to whom poor Edwin climbed into the barn to warm up, sheltered the huge rabbit. And in the spring, he came up with such an occupation for him that Edwin became famous throughout the entire district.
This fairy tale was written and drawn by Bill Peet (1915–2002), a famous American artist, screenwriter, and writer whose books have been published in different languages for over half a century. Before becoming a writer, Bill Peet worked for many years as an animator at Walt Disney Studios and participated in the creation of legendary full-length cartoons such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and many others.
