Badgers Bosya and Mosya are old friends. Little Mosya is a restless fidget, a tireless adventurer. He loves to be first in everything. Big Bosya is thrifty and reasonable. He knows how to bake delicious cakes, make fishing rods and is always ready to help little Mosya if he can’t do something.

One summer morning the friends went fishing and got into a fight over a trifle. Mosya wanted to be the first to catch the biggest fish, but instead he fished an old shoe out of the river. Bosya laughed so hard that he almost burst laughing. Mosya got angry and threw Bosya's fishing rod into the river in revenge. Then it was Bosya's turn to be offended. Neither of them was going to make peace or ask for forgiveness; everyone believed that it was not their fault.

Bosya and Mosya went their separate ways, hoping to find new friends soon. But it turned out that it wasn't that easy. Everyone Bosya and Mosya met on their way that day was completely unfit to be their friend. By evening, both badgers were already bitterly regretting their stupid quarrel and dreamed of being friends again like before. All that was required was to ask each other for forgiveness. And they did it with great joy at the first opportunity. And little Mosya was especially happy that he asked for forgiveness first - after all, he loved to be first in everything.
