Fairy tales (Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin)
Fairy tales (Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin)
The book of fairy tales by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin with illustrations by the classic of Soviet book graphics Vladimir Alekseevich Milashevsky was published in the Soviet Union only once, in 1949, with a print run of only 10 thousand copies. This edition has long since become a bibliographic rarity, and the illustrations by the remarkable artist Vladimir Milashevsky have become a significant milestone in domestic book publishing.
70 years after the illustrations were created and first published, the book is published in the form that was originally conceived by the artist. It includes thirty-four original drawings by Vladimir Milashevsky, provided by the All-Russian A.S. Pushkin Museum. Of these, fifteen works were not included in the collection "Fairy Tales" (1949) and are published for the first time.
The collection includes five of the most famous and beloved fairy tales by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin - "The Tale of Tsar Saltan...", "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights", "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel", "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish" and "The Tale of the Priest and His Workman Balda".
