In a house with a carrot-orange roof, there lived a sheep named Ragu and a wolf named Wok, who were in perfect harmony. One evening, they found a large, unclaimed egg on the road and brought it home. Wok wanted to make an omelette out of the egg, but the sheep wouldn’t let him. And she did the right thing, because a little crocodile soon hatched from the egg, which they named Omelet. At first, the forest animals were afraid of the little green one, but then they fell in love with him for his kindness and cheerful disposition. However, not all of them did. The badger insisted that the crocodile would swallow everyone when he grew up. One day, after a thunderstorm, their quiet river overflowed, and the turbulent stream began to carry the ducklings away from the shore. Omelet rushed after them, opened his mouth and slammed it shut along with the ducklings. Was the badger right?
British author Steve Smallman came up with a story about true friendship that breaks stereotypes, helps to get rid of habitual fears and look at the world in a new way. And the young French artist Joelle Dreidemy drew funny and touching illustrations for this story.
