In the second book of the series, the wonderful red-haired family – dad Mick and his children Emma and Lucas – take on a new detective investigation. Apparently, the Crab Hotel on the island of Norderney is haunted, and that’s why no one stays there. While dad Mick checks into the hotel, Emma and Lucas set up an ambush near it. It’s a good thing that great-uncle Janssen has specially equipped the detective van for such cases. It has literally everything, from all sorts of technical innovations that allow you to see and hear literally through walls, to an impressive supply of food that can come in handy during a multi-day surveillance of a criminal. And the ghosts don’t keep you waiting. The walls shake and move from their howling and rumbling. And they scare dad Mick so much that he leaves the hotel in a terrible panic. But scaring Emma and Lucas is not so easy. They also guess that the ghosts are probably disguised as dishonest and insidious people. They return to the hotel and, risking their lives, not only expose the criminals, but also save the life of a noble elderly lady. The key to success in the investigation is simple: Emma and Lucas are observant, smart and fearless. And they complement each other perfectly. And the fact that they are still children only helps them penetrate where not every adult would go.
