The series about Matthias was Barbro's debut, stories about him were published by Raben & Sjogren, where Astrid worked as an editor. Since then, the books have been translated into thirty languages, published in the USSR and Russia. Barbro herself became a laureate of the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen and... her namesake Astrid awards.
