An incredible journey
An old bull terrier, a young Labrador and a Siamese cat leave the home that has sheltered them and set off on a journey full of deadly dangers. Overcoming hunger, escaping from wild predators, swimming across rivers and independently obtaining food, these animals, accustomed to home comfort, stubbornly walk through the remote and sparsely populated territories of Canada to a goal that only they know about. The four-legged friends will find themselves on the brink of death more than once, but they will move on, and their instinct, mutual assistance and love for their owners will lead them.
Sheila Barnford was born on May 11, 1918, in Scotland. In 1951, she and her husband immigrated to Canada. They had three children and three beloved pets. These animals inspired Sheila to write “ The Incredible Journey ,” which was published in 1961. Two years later, Walt Disney made the book into a film, and it has since become a beloved bestseller.
