Ready, set, go to bed!

Putting a child to bed on time is not an easy task. Does the baby complain that the room is too hot? Is it noisy outside? Does he not want to sleep in the dark? Or maybe he does not go to bed because he cannot tear himself away from his favorite game or cartoon? Sound familiar? Of course!

What if going to bed every night wasn't a chore, but an exciting competition with prizes for participants? What if there was a world championship in falling asleep faster?

German artist Daniel Napp (b. 1974) created and described this grand “sporting” event in great detail. And believe me, it’s worth visiting!

Five participants from all over the world – Leon Lev, Bob McHobot, Lilly Crocodilly, Sofia van der Zebra and Baby Koala – try to fall asleep in a race, sparing no effort. Neither heat, nor cold, nor the noise of the construction site, nor even the darkness can stop them! Strict but fair judge Pedro Cabanero makes sure that the athletes do not cheat and awards points only to those who have truly fallen into a deep sleep. And energetic commentator Victor Kvakis, reporting live from the championship, does not let the viewers get bored for a second.

There are a huge number of children's books about sleep and going to bed. It would seem that there is nothing new to say here. But the book "Ready, Set, Go to Bed!" proves the opposite.
