The famous tale by Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky tells of a poor fly who was captured by a terrible spider, and all of the Tsokotukha's friends refused to help her. Only one fearless mosquito rescued the fly from trouble. And not only rescued her, but also offered her his hand and heart.

"The Fly-Tsokotukha" with illustrations by V. M. Konashevich was first published under the title "The Fly's Wedding" by the publishing house "Raduga" in 1924. Surprisingly, one of the most popular books today immediately found itself in the sights of censorship. Chukovsky was accused of trying to keep "dying and obsolete forms of life" - name days and weddings - "on the surface of life", and Konashevich - of excessive frivolity in the illustrations. Nevertheless, from 1924 to 1927, the book was reprinted five times. The sixth edition was published by the same publishing house in 1927, but with a new title. Chukovsky had to give in to critics and rename the fairy tale to the familiar "Fly-Tsokotukha".

Before you is a reprint of the legendary “Fly-Tsokotukha” with illustrations by Vladimir Konashevich from the 1927 book. The text is reproduced in a later version, revised by K.I. Chukovsky (Collected Works in Five Volumes, Vol. 1, “Terra”, 2008).
