The Little Mole Who Wanted to Know Who Shat on His Head

The Little Mole Who Wanted to Know Who Shat on His Head
This short story became a discovery in children's fiction, "legalizing" the theme of the natural functions of the human body. A terrible thing happened to a small mole one morning. Something similar to a small sausage fell on his head. The brave little hero begins an investigation to find the offender and take revenge on him.
It is worth typing the word "mole" in any Internet search engine and adding to it the colloquial analogue of the scientific "excrement", and you will get hundreds of links to a variety of portals and sites, blogs and forums: a scanned (usually in the Czech version) book about a small mole has become one of the cult topics of the last decade in the Russian zone of the network. The Melik-Pashayev publishing house takes the liberty of presenting to our readers the story of the mole, in the form of a real book.
The story "The Little Mole Who Wanted to Know Who Peed on His Head" by Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch was first published in German in 1989. In a short time, the story was published in more than 30 languages and became a recognized bestseller in many countries. In 2002, a theatrical production about the mole was released at the Edinburgh Festival. A German-language animated film was also made based on the book.
The book is fantastically funny. It contains no scientific information, no descriptions of animal husbandry, but everyone understands what it is about. Therefore, it is not only funny, but also educational. The illustrations by Wolf Erlblurch, professor at the University of Düsseldorf, a teacher of design, are drawn with great taste, and do not contain any rudeness or unnecessary details.
Nowadays, in the West, "Little Mole" is considered a classic among picture books. The book was nominated for the German Children's Literature Prize. It still inspires great enthusiasm among young and adult readers. We are sure that the funny adventures of the mole will not leave Russian readers indifferent either: from little ones interested in the "forbidden" topic to young people who love unusual and funny gifts.
