Janusz Korczak's stories "Summer in Michalówka" and "Summer in Wilhelm Mówka" ("Moski, Joski i Srule" and "Jozki, Jaski i Franki") were first published in Warsaw in 1910-1911. It is amazing how relevant and modern books written more than 100 years ago can be, and how Korczak's style and ideas have not become outdated over time.
I really want to visit those summer camps with those children: to fight for the right to eat a crust of bread, to be a jury member in court, to build ships on trees, to collect a basket of mushrooms, or to listen to those very stories of that very Janusz Korczak before going to bed.
The story "Summer in Michałówka" is published in the classic translation by Kinga Sienkiewicz. The story "Summer in Wilhelmówka", as well as the eighth chapter from the story "Summer in Michałówka" are published in Russian for the first time in the translation by Victoria Fedorova.
