Nomads: Traditions and Technologies
They follow herds of sheep, horses or reindeer, dive for pearls, get water from sand and try to get Wi-Fi everywhere. They live in yurts, igloos, tents and mobile homes. They eat salted curd, fermented meat, grasshoppers or just order delivery. Who are they? Nomads, of course!
There are different types of nomads: cattle breeders and shepherds, hunters and gatherers, and just people who are bored of sitting in one place. Nomads are found in the Far North and the hot south, in deserts and seas, in noisy cities and secluded corners of the planet. They have different customs, habits, and traditions, but they have one thing in common - a love of freedom.
In this book we will learn about the life, customs and culture of a wide variety of nomads and understand what we owe them and what we can learn from them.
