How to love a child
"My life was difficult, but interesting. This is exactly what I asked God for in my youth" - these are the words Janusz Korczak wrote in his diary in 1942, while in the Warsaw Ghetto. That same year, the famous children's writer, doctor and teacher, founder of the legendary Orphanage, along with his charges (about 200 children), would die in the concentration camp in Treblinka. In 1942, Janusz Korczak turned sixty-four; he was widely known for his original views on the principles of raising a child, which he actively and very successfully implemented in life. His pedagogical system was based on a very simple idea: a child is a full-fledged person, entitled to his own views and his own attitude to the world around him. Janusz Korczak wrote: "Whoever ponders the soul of the words people use, the difference between a child, a youth and an adult, an ignoramus and a thinker will be erased..."
This edition includes the main pedagogical works of Janusz Korczak, in which readers will find both valuable practical recommendations and fascinating stories and reflections on the problems and joys associated with growing up and self-determination of a person.
