At the new school Chester gets into, everyone is so nice and kind that the sarcastic scoundrel, who has changed many different schools, immediately feels clearly uneasy. His deskmate Joe has such terrible handwriting that it is the only thing in which he has surpassed everyone. Unexpectedly for himself, Chester undertakes to help his classmate. But Joe is not so hopeless - he has amazing technical abilities and makes incredible models. Chester helps Joe reveal his talent to everyone. And he himself gets a medal. To write very ugly (in Joe's style, like a chicken paw), you will need paper - any old chewed sheet will do - and a pen that leaves stains. For work, find a bumpy place (a rock or knees will do, but a bus that has lost control is better) Translated the story by Anne Fine into Russian Dina Krupskaya. Illustrations for the Russian edition of "Like a Chicken's Paw" were drawn by the brilliant artist Marta Zhuravskaya, very popular in the Internet community and among connoisseurs of modern illustration.
