"Cinderella" is one of the most famous stories, the plot of which was embodied in fairy tales of different peoples of the world. The fairy tale was first discovered in ancient Egyptian papyri. But the most popular version was that of the French writer and collector of folk tales Charles Perrault. And this is not surprising. After all, it is Perrault's "Cinderella" that is filled with sparkling lightness, irony and fun. It does not have the cruelty and vindictiveness of the German version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale or the emotional pretentiousness of "Cinderella the Cat" by the Italian Giambattista Basile.
For this edition, we have re-translated the first edition of Charles Perrault's tale from 1675. And the artist Anton Lomaev has accompanied it with illustrations that send the reader to 17th-century France - the century of brilliant kings and court intrigues, magnificent balls, gilded carriages and musketeers, the century of golden tales.
