The book includes two tales about bosom friends – the elephant Bo and the mouse Felix.
"About real and virtual life"
Felix the mouse persuades Bo the elephant to take him to an Internet club where the baby elephant has been hanging out lately. Bo agrees reluctantly, knowing that Felix is always poking around where he shouldn't. In the club, Bo explains what a monitor, keyboard, and "mouse" are. Felix thinks it's right that the "mouse" controls everything. The club is silent, the visitors sit glued to their screens. Bo also immerses himself in the "walker" game and forgets about everything else in the world. Suddenly, strange things start happening in the game: the river crossing that Bo was going to build has already been built, the thistles have been mown down, the boat that was supposed to be waiting for him on the shore is rocking on the waves, and a sad Felix is sitting in the boat, disgustedly chewing a piece of cheese. How he got there is unknown, but the mouse clearly feels uneasy. Everything there is unreal, tasteless and smellless. Even the porcupine quills do not prick! Here, problems begin for others too. Perhaps a malicious virus has penetrated the network? No, it is not a virus, but Felix. He would have remained in the virtual world if not for the lightning that flashed and turned off the light. And when the light came back on, the little mouse was standing on the edge of the table, happily gnawing on a fragrant apple. So real!
"A story in which everything ends and immediately begins again"
The city is waiting for snow, but there is no snow. Felix is constantly knitting, Bo, looking at him, also starts knitting, although he does not like this activity. Suddenly they realize that there are only three days until the New Year, and they have nothing ready. But first they need to finish knitting scarves for the cat Maclay and the giraffe Innokenty, so that they do not freeze. Then they need to make a snowman for the city - the snow has finally fallen! Then they pull the old turtle Aunt Ida-Ida out of a snowdrift, dig up the house of her friends the hedgehogs, and then find a lost little hare. Time flies while doing this, and the friends realize that they do not even have a Christmas tree to celebrate the holiday. But then the tree itself floats into the baby elephant's house on the backs of the hedgehogs. The giraffe brings tinsel, the turtle drags a pineapple, the hares - a cabbage pie. Bo and Felix sit by the tree and make wishes. A year has passed, but they have a lot of new, interesting and magical things ahead of them.
This book was conceived and drawn by the artist Alena Chernaya. At first, stories were born that she told to her little daughter and other children. The heroes of these stories are never bored, and miracles happen to them in the most ordinary places: at home, on the street, in the park. Then the idea of the book arose and illustrations appeared. In 2019, the series "About the Big and the Small" won the "Book Image" competition in the "Author's Book" nomination.
