Each book in the Dinosaur Friends series follows a day in the life of the tyrannosaurus Rasmus Rex and his best friend Trim Troodon. The second book takes place on the beach of Little Lake, where the entire Rex family has come to sunbathe on the occasion of the sunny weather. Trim invites Rasmus to go swimming, but he prefers to lie on the warm sand. Then Rasmus's older brother Robin appears and, as usual, starts to bully and tease him. And then he suggests that Rasmus and Trim swim to the island and back. This whole undertaking does not bode well for Rasmus: to tell the truth, he is not a very good swimmer, and there are also these rumors about a sea monster that was supposedly seen in the lake. He reluctantly accepts the challenge, only to prove to his nasty brother that he is not a coward. No one doubts that Robin will win - he always wins. However, completely unexpectedly, Rasmus has a protector, and Robin learns a good lesson.
The series of books about the adventures of dinosaur friends was written and illustrated by writer Lars Mäle and artist Lars Rudebjer. They created an entire country of Dinosauria, where something funny and unexpected awaits a child on every page. The book has a lot of dialogue, so it is perfect for reading aloud or role-playing with children from 4 years old.
In addition to the fascinating plot and cute characters, there is a small educational part at the beginning and end of the book.
