Dragons - father and son
Dragons - father and son
The book "Dragons - Father and Son" includes three stories about a charming little dragon named Ogonyok and his stern dragon father: "Dragons - Father and Son", "The Dragon in Love" and "The Dragon at Work".
A dragon named Fire lives with his dad in a cave located in the heart of a mountain valley. According to a centuries-old tradition, dragons are supposed to fly to a neighboring town and set fire to human dwellings, but Fire is not too keen on this activity. Instead of burning down a couple of houses, as his dad tells him, the little dragon gets to know the townspeople better, makes friends, and this dramatically changes his life with his dragon dad.
The trilogy by French writer Alexandre Lacroix, wittily illustrated by Ronan Badel and translated into 12 languages, is one of the rare children's books whose plot is built around the relationship between a child and a father. More often than not, the main parent of a child in children's literature is the mother, which is certainly important. But fathers are still unfairly pushed into the background. Well, the stories about the father and son dragons successfully compensate for this unfortunate imbalance. Now fathers will also have "their own" book that they can read to their children before bedtime.
