Returning home, the boy Semyon did not find the house. Where did he disappear to?

Agniya Barto told the children about a real Moscow event. And the famous cartoonist Konstantin Rotov played out each line of her poem in a funny story.

Most of Agnia Barto's poems are written for children - preschoolers or primary school students. The style is very easy, the poems are easy to read and remember even for little ones. The author seems to be talking to the child in simple everyday language, without lyrical digressions and descriptions - but in rhyme. And the conversation is with young readers, as if the author is their peer. Barto's poems are always on a contemporary topic, as if she is telling a story that happened recently.

The poem "The House Has Moved" is dedicated to a real event - the relocation of house No. 5/6 on Serafimovich Street in Moscow, which interfered with the construction of the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge in 1937. The peculiarity of this move was the need to lift the building (weight 7,500 tons) to a height of 1.87 m. Nevertheless, the move took place without resettling the residents.

The famous graphic artist Konstantin Pavlovich Rotov created magnificent humorous illustrations for Agniya Barto's poem. These are detailed graphic "stories in pictures" with clear outline drawings, sharply captured characters and many small funny details.

"Everything in Rotov's drawings was extremely interesting to the child. I still remember my childhood impressions, especially from the poem "The House Has Moved". The artist plays out almost every line of this poem (1938 - this year the book with K. Rotov's illustrations was first published) in a cheerful plot. Pioneer Sema, who has returned from camp, is a cheerful boy. A net in his hand, a camera in a case on his chest, an energetic pose - these are his props and characteristic sign"
