Goshka the wolf cub
All books by G.S. Knizhnik are good for their unexpected plots. The new book "Goshka-wolf cub" is no exception. This book cannot be read gradually, you want to "swallow" it all at once.
The parents of an inquisitive teenager Goshka go to Brazil to search for rare plants, and entrust their son to his grandfather for the entire vacation, who is somewhere far away, in Siberia, observing the habits of animals. Goshka ends up at the Biostation and plunges headlong into a new, incredibly exciting life. Intuitively, he understands that the most interesting thing for him will be wolves. And so it turned out. Goshka manages to establish close contact with the she-wolf Donna, and he begins to conduct truly scientific observations of her behavior.
As usually happens in life, Goshka immediately gets competitors, or rather envious people: two of his peers, Venka the Banker and Keshka the General, are trying at all costs to hook, hinder or humiliate the Muscovite stranger. There is another explanation for their behavior: a serious and beautiful girl, Tanya, who studies the behavior of owls at the Biostation, openly likes Goshka, and he likes her. Throughout the book, this hostile couple plots against Goshka, for example, they lead him into the taiga and leave him there without a compass. It is good that Goshka always gets out of such difficult situations with honor.
A certain mysterious person, the forest spirit Georgy, who occasionally emerges from the depths of the taiga and visits Goshka's grandfather at the Biostation, adds to the intrigue. He possesses knowledge that is incredible for an ordinary person. Not only does Georgy save Goshka's grandfather from imminent death and actually rejuvenates his heart, he also easily operates with the capabilities of DNA.
Thanks to the amazing abilities of the forest spirit Georgy, the third part of the book is simply a bomb. Goshka turns into a wolf cub for a while and learns the life of the inhabitants of the taiga as if from the inside. In addition, after a stormy life in the form of an animal, he returns to the Biostation not only with valuable knowledge, but also with a newly found sister, like two peas in a pod similar to Goshka, but at times reminiscent of a fox.
The book's undoubted merit is the relationships between different children and adults, built by the author in a plausible manner, without edification, but with precise pedagogical accents. In addition, the author "between the lines" and between the tense plot lines tells a lot of interesting and useful information from the field of biology and zoology.
