What kind of strange dog lives in the house of brothers Kolya and Vasya? "He looks like a bench, / And a duck, and a jackdaw, / Waddling. / He has crooked paws and a big nose, / His ears hang down to the floor!" But he is a purebred dachshund! American writer Leonard Lewis Levinson once joked that a dachshund is a breed of dog of a certain size: about half a dog in height and one and a half dogs in length. And Samuil Marshak wrote a funny story in verse about a dachshund named Vaxa-Klyaksa. The dog is very devoted to his owners, ready to run after them to the ends of the earth, get a real football for boys and even enter into battle with a whole pack of rats. And yet, is he ugly or beautiful? Experts will answer this question at a dog show. Expressive and cheerful illustrations for "Vaksa-Klyaksa" were created by the famous artist, the author of the image of the yellow fluffy Murzilka, Aminadav Kanevsky. They are made in Kanevsky's favorite manner of drawing with a pen and watercolor coloring. The book is recommended for preschool children.
