Many people dream of dancing in ballet. But few manage to get on the big stage. And bulldogs rarely do it. To be more precise, the first and only one who managed it was Vzhikh, a bulldog whose childhood was spent in the theater, in the dressing room of the mouse Matilda, a dancer in the corps de ballet.
Maybe Vzhikh was just lucky? Maybe he knew how to dream and work? Or maybe it happened because he was lost as a puppy and wasn't afraid of difficulties since childhood?
And there are plenty of difficulties on the path to success - passions boil wildly behind the scenes! Vzhikh will meet enemies - the theater director, mini-pig Navryadli, the ballet star - the narcissistic lion Murriev. He will meet a patroness - the prima ballerina fox Lisetskaya - and an inspirer - the choreographer Monsieur Bravo, a gibbon. All of them, enemies and friends, will become Vzhikh's teachers. But he himself will become his main opponent and teacher. After all, the path from a dream to its fulfillment can only be walked on your own paws! And at the same time, he will find his purpose and a real home.
Five reasons to read Natalia Pesochinskaya's book "Bravo, Vzhih!":
1. Remember your dream
An inspiring and warm story about a graceful bulldog who made a dizzying career fills with optimism and gives hope. After all, even if the path from boxers to ballet soloists is real, then your dream can come true, you just have to gather your strength.
2. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the theatre
The little things, features and details that fill the narrative imperceptibly immerse us in theatrical life. You will feel involved, even if you have never been backstage!
3. Believe in yourself
On the one hand, of the many enemies that Vzhikh will encounter, many will later become his true teachers. On the other hand, it will suddenly become clear that the main enemy on the path to Vzhikh's dream is himself. After all, the path to its fulfillment can only be walked on one's own paws.
4. Remember your family
We meet Vzhikh at a time when the only kindred spirit around is the mouse Matilda who raised him. But no matter how strong her love for her talented pet is, parents cannot be replaced. A little persistence, ingenuity and courage - and the family is back together.
5. See atmospheric illustrations
The book's spreads are incredibly beautiful illustrations by Oksana Baturina. Breathing, full of mood and magic pictures! It is not for nothing that Oksana received a diploma from the International Book Illustration and Design Competition "Book Image" (2023) for the design of the book.
