Every third person in the world faces allergies. And most often, children suffer from them. Ekaterina Klimova's scientific comic "Allergen" and its main character Alya will help explain to a child in an accessible and entertaining way what allergens are and why it is necessary to be very responsible when choosing food, medicine and clothing, as well as pay close attention to the body's behavior during the flowering periods of plants that can cause allergies.

Since allergies are becoming “younger” every year and often manifest themselves already in preschool age, it is important to tell children as early as possible what they are and how to behave correctly when they discover certain symptoms. The genre of scientific comics is the best suited for this, as it allows for complex information to be conveyed in an accessible and entertaining way, even to toddlers.

The heroine of this book is a schoolgirl named Alya. She is preparing to perform at a New Year's party. Unfortunately, a few days before the holiday, the girl woke up in the morning and discovered that she had suddenly turned into a real monster: she was covered in disgusting red spots, her face was swollen, her eyes were itchy, and her nose was running. Of course, Alya was terribly upset - in her fright, she decided that she had somehow become an ogre. However, the doctor to whom Alya's mother took her hurried to calm the girl down - she had not become an ogre, of course, but she had developed an allergy.

The doctor prescribed Alya drops, ointments and other remedies to combat the symptoms of allergies. However, in order to be guaranteed to take part in the New Year's party, Alya needs to understand what an allergy is and find the allergen that caused such dramatic changes in her body.
