The new Kumon "Let's Get to Work!" series notebook will help your child consolidate the skill of working with glue and learn how to make simple appliques.
With the help of this notebook, your child will:
- practice gluing stickers to a specially designated place, correctly placing them on the sheet;
- learn how to work with glue and make simple appliques;
- will develop spatial thinking, determining how to correctly place an applique detail of a particular shape on a sheet of paper;
- will train fine motor skills of the hands.
The tasks in the notebook are given according to the principle from simple to complex and are divided into three blocks:
Gluing stickers (No. 1-11). In these tasks, the child will practice placing parts of different shapes on a sheet. This will help him cope with a similar task in the following exercises, in which he will need to make appliques. Also, the first tasks should arouse the child's interest in the notebook.
Making appliques (No. 12-32). In this section, the child will make appliques of varying complexity: glue parts of different shapes onto a sheet of paper, aligning them with the picture correctly; glue elongated pictures; make simple crafts that can be played with. The tasks are aimed at practicing the skill of working with glue.
Assemble the puzzle (No. 33-38). In the last tasks, the child will glue the picture from fragments and arrange the parts so that the picture becomes complete. Such exercises train not only the skill of working with glue, fine motor skills, but also spatial thinking.
