The collection "I Don't Want to Sleep!" includes three funny fairy tales created by the best modern British authors and illustrators: "The Cowardly Mouse" "The Rabbit Goes for a Bath" "I Don't Want to Sleep!" The youngest readers will find funny plots with unexpected twists, large bright illustrations and a sea of pleasure from a good book. This is what these fairy tales are about:
"The Cowardly Mouse" In a small hole behind the closet lived a little mouse named Tikhonya. He was a timid mouse, a cowardly mouse, a homebody mouse. More than anything in the world, Tikhonya was afraid of a huge ginger cat. But one day, the desire to enjoy a chocolate pie overcame his fear, and Tikhonya went to the kitchen, having first tied a thread around his waist so as not to get lost in the long corridors of the house and to find his way back home. On the way to the treasured chocolate pie, the mouse was beset by dangers at every step, having overcome which Tikhonya turned from a cowardly mouse into a heroic mouse and stopped being afraid of the ginger cat.
"Rabbit Goes for a Bath" In the evening, as usual, the mother rabbit called the children to bathe before going to bed. The bunnies loved to bathe, so they dropped their toys and ran happily to the bathroom. All except one, the youngest bunny named Crumb. Crumb didn't want to bathe, he wanted to play. But here's the problem: playing alone turned out to be so boring! Crumb tried this way and that to attract the attention of his mother and brothers while they were busy bathing, but he didn't succeed. In the end, he accidentally slipped on the edge of the bathtub and fell into the water - he had to bathe against his will! Although the story doesn't end there. While the mother was bathing Crumb who had fallen into the bathtub, the other bunnies managed to get so dirty in the kitchen that they had to wash themselves a second time.
"I don't want to sleep!" The Tiger Cub was very naughty. He didn't like to go to bed. "I don't want to sleep, I won't!" he said to his mother Tigress every evening. And one day, his mother's patience snapped. "Okay, walk until the morning!" she answered, and the Tiger Cub, overjoyed, ran off into the jungle as fast as he could, where many interesting encounters and adventures awaited him. True, by morning he was so tired that he barely made it home... where he immediately fell asleep on his mother's paws.
