Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale " The Elder Mother " is an amazing story about kindness and compassion, loyalty and the magical power of love.
One day, a cheerful old neighbor came to a sick little boy and told him a fairy tale about an elderly couple who travel along the waves of their memory on their golden wedding day - and they are helped in this by an old sorceress, the Elder Mother, who can sprout a flowering bush even from a teapot with elderberries. But the boy was disappointed with the fairy tale, deciding that there was no magic in this story. However, the Elder Mother told him that "the most wonderful fairy tales grow from reality. Otherwise, her fragrant bush would not have grown from the teapot." With these words, she picked up the boy and set off with him on an extraordinary journey...
Original drawings by Anna Hopta decorate this fairy tale, full of warm memories of people who lived long lives in love and harmony.
