In the village of Upside Down, everything is as usual again: its inhabitants are running, scurrying, fussing, fixing things, tying up, gluing… Boredom is an unfamiliar word to them! But as soon as they get everything fixed, a snowstorm suddenly starts up again, the village turns upside down, and the inhabitants have no choice but to start all over again. What's going on?..
French artist Mikael Riviere (born in 1984) is a graduate of the Angoulême Film School, and this is easily guessed in his book: " Upside Down Village " is like a good Christmas cartoon, "Last Year's Snow Was Falling" and "The Nutcracker" all rolled into one. But if there's one thing Riviere has, it's originality! And his work looks even more interesting because it was brilliantly translated into Russian by Mikhail Yasnov and Anastasia Eremeeva.
