The collection "Bruno the Bear in the Garden" continues the series of educational picture books created by the famous Swedish writer and illustrator Gunilla Ingves. The book includes two stories: "Bruno the Bear and the Earthworm Uffe" and "Bruno the Bear and the Grasshopper Tippe".

In the first story, Bruno the bear is walking through the garden and notices a strange mound of earth in a bed of radishes. He moves it aside with his paw and sees an underground passage. If only he could get in there! The inquisitive bear can become small whenever he wants. How? That's his secret! Having become a tiny bear, he rolls underground and falls right on top of Uffe the earthworm. When Uffe recovers from the shock, he shows the bear his domain and introduces him to his springtail friends. The bear saves the worm from a ferocious centipede and helps him replenish his food supplies. The bear then carefully records his observations in his diary. The bear's notes and drawings take up four pages: a cross-section of Uffe's underground domain, the lifestyle of earthworms, their body structure and method of reproduction, their friends and enemies, and the benefits they bring to the garden.

In the second story, Bruno the bear and Lolla the dog are sitting in the garden and listening to the chirping of grasshoppers. Bruno is very curious about how they make such music. He becomes the size of a grasshopper and meets Tippe. He shows the bear how they chirp, and together they set off to find Tippe's bride. At full speed, the friends crash into a sticky web and almost become prey to a poisonous spider. Luckily, Lolla runs in time and tears the web. They are free, but Tippe loses one of his legs when he falls. Fortunately, Tippe can still jump and chirp! The day ends with a cheerful wedding in Bruno the bear's garden. As usual, the naturalist bear writes down in his diary everything he saw and learned during this walk. Four pages are filled with his notes and drawings about the family of green grasses to which Tippe belongs - their way of life, reproduction, friends and enemies.

Books about Bruno the Bear with gentle illustrations, lots of details on each page and charming characters teach children aged 3-6 to understand and love nature.
