Sergei Timofeevich Aksakov (1791-1859) heard the fairy tale " The Scarlet Flower " from his housekeeper Pelageya and wrote it down, poetically presenting it in his own way. For many years, the fairy tale about the scarlet flower - a symbol of rare and selfless love - has been read at home and at school, plays have been staged based on it, films and cartoons have been made.
Illustrations for the fairy tale were drawn by Boris Arkadyevich Diodorov, People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
