The book includes three tales about bosom friends – the elephant Bo and the mouse Felix.
"A story about time, which, fortunately, turned out to be temporary"
Felix the Mouse, not wanting to part with a beautiful autumn day, decides to repeat it. To do this, he secretly sneaks into the bedroom of his friend Bo the elephant and exactly at midnight moves the hands of the alarm clock back, pronouncing a spell he made up himself. The next day, God knows what starts happening in the elephant's house! The paper castle that the friends glued and painted together all morning turns back into sheets of white paper before our eyes; the tower built from blocks falls apart; the vegetables that they peeled and cut together for soup become whole again, fly out of the pan and are placed in baskets. A button that was just sewn on comes off, a broken cup comes together without a single crack, and the flower that blossomed in the morning disappears from Bo's favorite cactus. In the end, Bo understands whose handiwork this is. At midnight, Felix moves the hands of the clock forward and pronounces a new spell. And he promises not to experiment with time anymore.
"A very scary story"
Bo finds Felix in his house. He is lying under a blanket and trembling with fear. For the second night, someone is walking around his house! To catch the villain, the friends set up an ambush on the approaches to the house, but fall asleep, and in the morning they find cat tracks under Felix's windows. The tracks lead to the house of the cat Maclay. As soon as they see each other, Felix and Maclay faint, and when Bo brings them to their senses, it turns out that Maclay has been afraid of mice since childhood. To overcome this fear, he goes to Felix's house. Why at night? Because at night Felix sleeps and cannot attack him.
"Journey Beyond the Page"
Bo finds paints in his desk drawer and decides to become a Real Artist. But the only drawing he can do is a portrait of a parrot with cunning eyes and a bow tie. The parrot comes to life and leads his friends to the land of Multicolor, where he tells them about the secret of white, about the rainbow, about warm and cold colors, about paints. And he also teaches the baby elephant not just to look, but to see.
At the end of the book there is an article about the author – artist and storyteller Alena Chernaya. She loved to tell stories all her life. The heroes of her stories are never bored, and miracles happen to them in the most ordinary places: at home, on the street, in the park. In 2019, the series “About the Big and the Small” won the “Book Image” competition in the “Author’s Book” nomination.
